my presidential platform inspired by cherry's room post
I'd honestly enjoy reading many posts by the people here on their own presidential platform. Read this here for the idea behind this post. I'm sure it won't be as popular of a post, but that is fine with me.
I'm a little older than the person posting that and I've still not run for president (don't most people by now?). I honestly never would even if I had the popularity, though I have been told I have been voted for by my brother haha. You can see their post is mostly joking, it reminds me of Vermin Supreme (see here and here for merch), not that their platform is similar but that they kinda seem to see the joke in it all. I actually wear a straw hat, partially because I hate sunscreen! So Cherry really resonated with me.
Just for fun I'd like to share a few tidbits on what ideas and ideals I personally would put as hot topics in my presidential platform.
- Abolish all taxes since it is theft.
- Abolish the federal reserve and all central banking since it is fraud.
- Shift all federal agencies and programs into a voluntary system. For an example make the FDA a voluntary certification program. If a company is not in compliance with FDA regulation they have to explicitly notify those buying or using such products and services. This would apply to the USDA, EPA, CDC, NIH, FTC, and countless other programs of sorts. Use your imagination of sorts to see how a voluntary certificate system could perhaps make this even better than it is - it wouldn't take much.
- Abolish building code. Along with this support and promote an educational program to teach many how to build their own housing from local and low costing materials. Help homeless build affordable and effective low costing housing with straw-bale, rammed earth, earthbag, cob, and more. Take donations to help fund such a thing and bring in skilled workers to help with this. Also promote and support through voluntary means humanure composting toilets, rainwater catchment, greywater systems, and more sustainable solutions to major problems.
- To make this post very short (I could go on way too long) I'll skip to the big ones...
- Abolish government. I should clarify a little here. I don't mind governments being around, I just want them to be more respectful and to only use violence to stop violence. Governmental systems should be a voluntary engagement without using coercion and force against non-violent actions. Let us hold the same standard for governments as we do for normal humans and stop giving them a monopoly to use violence to enforce whatever arbitrary codes, statutes, and laws they create. You all should have the right to be part of whatever government you desire, just let me opt out...
- Abolish presidents
- Now I don't have to show up for the silly job, swear an oath (which I cannot do), and have the deaths of many on my head.
